Creatures of the Wind.

I only made the recent discovery of Creatures of the Wind in their Fall 2012 collection which I was mesmerised by. It delved into childhood folksy fairytale characters in the shape and patterns of the clothing. I later on found out that the collection was inspired by The Street Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns and Fairies by Robert Kirk. I suppose I find myself pondering the collections whose inspirations I can'relate' to more (I'm sorry but whenever I say pondering I feel like a wise, old lady and it's great). Some collections have these deep and thoughtful meanings which I shamefully admit are sometime lost on me so it was nice to be able to look at a collection and see the way it's inspiration have been moulded into clothing.

Layering cheque patterns is something I often find myself doing, also something I think has been formed nicely in this collection. The figure with the layered skirts and the solid coloured top (top right) with patches on it has these subtle hints of bright colours which add to  the folksy fairytale-esqueness (you will find me making up words often) to the outfit.

So naturally I was looking forward to seeing their Spring collection which I did enjoy and now looking at the two they seem like perfect of embodiments of each season; Fall and Spring.

Ohh a bit of Meadham Kirchhoff Spring 2012 hair action going on there. Yeah I got that. SKIRTS OVER PANTS. New experimentation commencing. The colour and the vibrancy of the whole collection was so typically spring and I love it. Each outfit worked with around 3 main colours and like their previous collection they combined layers of patterns and then a solid colour with it. And in some, top left and middle right to be specific, there are these beautiful little embellishments adding to that typical blooming, spring, flowers etc. idea.
